If you want a legitimate sniper rifle the Armalite AR-30A1 is a great choice. Designed by Armalite specifically for military snipers. This rifle was not used in combat. Chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum which can sling 250gr projectiles in excess of 2900 fps, stays supersonic out past 1 mile. I will give my load data to the purchaser, this gun likes 250 gr Berger OTMs.

Rifle features a fully adjustable chassis with a rear pic rail for a monopod. 18" - 20 MOA top rail, 3/4-24 muzzle threads with factory brake, 5 round factory magazine 3.75", matched-serialized bolt, toolless bolt disassembly, 26" 1:10 cromoly barrel. Bare rifle weighs 15 lbs. the weight combined with the highly effective brake result in a mild recoil. This rifle is more comfortable to shot than my .308 deer rifle.
